Unleash the Power of Protection: Safeguard Your Appliances
Most of the electronic and electrical appliances used in homes and in commercial establishments are designed to operate at a certain nominal AC voltage, and can accept a tolerable upper and lower voltage limits. Frequent or excessive fluctuations beyond these limits can wreck havoc to the appliance, causing it to malfunction and eventually, result to irreparable damage.
The Challenge of Fluctuations
Electronic and electrical appliances, whether at home or in commercial spaces, are meticulously designed to operate within a specific range of AC voltages. However, the reality of power supply often brings with it fluctuations beyond the acceptable limits. These fluctuations, if unchecked, can lead to malfunction and irreparable damage to your appliances.
The APD-100 Series: Your Appliance's Best Friend
The Air-Con (or Appliance) Protection Device or APD is a stand-alone, power cut-off device that prevents an appliance like the air-conditioning unit, from damage brought about by severe fluctuations and/or abnormal AC mains voltage. The APD will automatically switch off the connected load or appliance when the mains AC voltage goes too high or too low, and will also reconnect automatically when the mains voltage has returned to within safe limits. Reconnection is guaranteed after a fixed time delay, to ensure stability of the supply and to allow ample time for compressor pressure to normalize.
Automated Precision Protection
The APD design features include surge and spike protection, AC mains sensor circuit that detects undesirable and harmful voltages, a smart internal load-disconnect timer for control of intermittent brief power interruptions, fixed power-on or load reconnect wait time delay prevents compressor short-cycling, zero-crossing detector that minimizes line transients when switching the connected load On or Off, and a miniature circuit breaker that offers supplemental protection against inadvertent short circuit, or over current condition.
Versatility at its Core: Other Uses
The APD can also be used on cold storage or freezers, large fridge, and other similar electrical appliances with sensitive electronic control circuit.
Digital Temperature Controller with External Sensor
THS-082022 (Control Module)
TSA-02 (Sensor)
Experience Precision Comfort
The Digital Temperature Controller or DTC, in short, along with its external sensor (TSA-02) is basically a thermostat that measures and shows the ambient temperature. It has discrete outputs to facilitate control of ancillary devices like actuators, alarm sounders, status indicator lamps, signal relays, etc. The current temperature reading is always shown in degrees Celsius, but can be conveniently switched to show degrees Fahrenheit, if desired. Although, originally intended for special Air-Conditioning controllers, the bare electronic circuit board of the DTC can also be adapted and used in other climate control and temperature monitoring applications.
Seamless Integration, Superior Performance
The DTC is comprised mainly of a Control module, and a Sensor module. The Control module has a local 4-digit numeric LED display to show the temperature reading, as well as the different operating parameters when in Settings mode. User pushbutton switches are also provided to ease display selection of temperature units of measure, and to access and modify the different system parameters.
Mastering Climate Control
Two (2) configurable open-collector outputs that provide control signals to ancillary devices are included in the Control module. Each output can be individually mapped to activate on low and/or high temperature alarm conditions.
Audible Alerts, Customizable Limits
In addition, an on-board Sonalert or piezo sounder is provided for optional audible alert when temperature limits are exceeded.
The low and high temperature limits can be manually set to restrict the range of temperatures in the application environment, and can be associated with Hysteresis to prevent multiple alarms.
Precision Meets Protection
The Sensor module (TSA-02) is assembled in a special plastic housing with slotted openings and venting holes to allow unobstructed sampling of air temperature. The housing provides protection to the sensitive temperature detector, and can be easily mounted on any flat surface. A 3-wire harness is also provided for connection to the Control module
Two-Way Aircon Controller
Automatic Bypass
ACW-022
Dual Aircon Controller
The 2-Way Aircon Controller or ACW-022 is intended for use on two (2) window-type air-conditioning units or ACUs, with cooling capacity of up to 2 Horsepower each. The ACW-022 automatically switches the power to the two ACUs in an alternate fashion, on every preset interval. A short transition delay is implemented during the switchover, in which power is fully applied to the other ACU before the previously running ACU is switched off. This “make-before-break” switching method allows smooth transition, and minimizes power line distortion and transients generated from switching high-power loads simultaneously.
Automated Fault Detection and Recovery
The ACW-022 continuously monitors the connected ACUs during operation. When an ACU failed to switch on during the transition period, or the previously running ACU has stopped due to an electrical fault, the ACW-022 can detect this condition, and automatically turns on the other working ACU. The malfunctioning ACU is automatically taken out of the normal sequence operation to prevent further damage and to allow servicing. When the faulty ACU is fixed, sequencing operation is restored either automatically, or via the corresponding Bypass pushbutton switch provided on the ACW-022, depending on the nature of fault.
Power-On Delay
Power-On Delay is an important feature of the ACW-022. An ACU is not switched on until at least, a preset time delay in minutes has passed since it was last switched off. This feature prevents short-cycling the ACU in the event of a brief power interruption, which could damage the compressor.
LED Indicators for Status Monitoring
The ACW-022 has a set of LED indicators for each ACU, to show On/Off status, Enable or Bypass mode, electrical fault (over/under voltage or circuit breaker tripped), and overload condition. In addition, a simple user interface, which includes an LED digital display and a set of pushbutton switches, is also provided to show system information, e.g., the remaining interval time, and to ease the setting of operating parameters.
