2-Channel RS232 Relay Controller

RYC-212

Revolutionize Control, Elevate Connectivity

The RYC-212 Relay Controller provides a safe interface between the POS Computer and its ancillary devices like gate barrier, traffic lights, warning or strobe lights, alarm siren and other electronic alert devices.  It has two (2) dry-contact relay outputs that serve the purpose of providing low-level control signals to trigger the connected ancillary device.

Empower with RS232 Connectivity

Using standard RS232 serial communications interface, it allows a PC-based application program to control the external peripheral over the PC’s local COM port.   A set of commands from the proprietary communications protocol is used to control a particular output relay.

Streamlined Command and Control

Other supported commands include getting the current status of all the outputs, and querying the device information like output type, number of channels, power supply requirement, and the hardware version number.  The version number is important to track future upgrade and support on new feature.

Illuminate with LED Insights

The RYC-212 has front panel LED status lamps for power indication, visual confirmation of output activation or de-activation, and communications activity.

Seamless Connectivity

Connections to the outputs of the RYC-212 Relay Controller is made possible via a 6-wire automotive harness with inline snap-on connector.  A standard serial communications cable with 9-pin D-Shell connector is also provided to facilitate the interface with the local COM port of the host computer.

4-Input 2-Output Relay Controller

RZC-342

Empower Control, Unleash Connectivity

The RZC-342 Input And Output Interface Module facilitates the connection between a Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) or computer and external sensors and actuators.  It serves as an isolation barrier that shields the DTE or computer from transients or voltage spikes induced over long cable runs of the sensor inputs, and from surge currents generated when activating or de-activating auxiliary devices.

A Bridge to Control

The dry-contact relay outputs on RZC-342 serve the purpose of providing low-level control signals to trigger a connected ancillary device like, gate barrier, traffic lights, warning or strobe lights, alarm siren and other electronic alert devices.

The voltage-free contact inputs on RZC-342 provides easy interface to sensors with dry-contact output like, Vehicle Loop Detectors, Optical Beam sensors, Ultrasonic Presence Detectors, Limit switches, and the like.

Effortless Monitoring and Control

Using standard RS232 serial communications interface, it allows a computer-based software to monitor and control external peripherals and sensors over the computer’s COM port.  A defined set of basic commands in the communications protocol is used to activate or de-activate a particular relay output, and to get the current status of the inputs.   The inputs can be individually configured to asynchronously send a status command frame on each valid transition via the serial port.  This is useful especially for interrupt-driven operation or process.

Other supported commands include getting the current state of all the relay outputs, querying the device’s name and type as well as its hardware version number.

LED Status Lamps

The RZC-342 has front panel LED status lamps for power indication, input detect verification, visual confirmation of output activation or de-activation, and for monitoring the communications activity with the host computer. Interface to the inputs and outputs of the RZC-342 Module is made possible via special inline connector harness.  Both Normally-Open and Normally-Close contacts of the relay outputs are available.

RS232-to-RS485 Active Serial Converter

SCA-485

Unlock Seamless Data Exchange

The SCA-485 Active Serial Converter translates the legacy RS232 single-ended data signals from the local serial communications port of a host computer to the industry-standard, RS485 3-wire, half-duplex differential, asynchronous serial interface.   The RS232 standard allows only one device to be connected to one communications port on the computer, and limits the cable length to less than 20 meters.  Unlike RS232, the RS485 standard extends the cable length to about 800 meters at a baud rate of 9600 bits per second, and enables one computer to exchange data with up to thirty-two (32) remote serial devices on the same communications port and cable, in a daisy-chained, multi-drop serial network.

Effortless Interface, Amplified Capabilities

A standard serial communications cable with 9-pin D-Shell connector on both ends is provided to facilitate the interface with the local RS232 port of the host computer.  Commercially available, low-capacitance data cable with at least one twisted-pair stranded conductors, and one bare or drain wire for the signal ground is necessary when connecting the SCA-485 to the remote RS485 devices.
